The exhibition features works by Lucien Wercollier, Théo Kerg, Joseph Probst, Roger Bertemes and Luc Wolff in five distinctive spaces. It sheds light on a significant part of the gradual evolution of abstract art in Luxembourg, which in some cases returns to its figurative origins. Each of the selected artists has his own approach to abstraction, but they all have in common that nature and the environment serve as a source of inspiration and a working basis. At the same time, the essential link between the art of Bertemes, Kerg, Probst and Wercollier remains the Nouvelle École de Paris, whose influence is decisive in Luxembourg in the 1950s.
